Josh Birkholz, the chair of the Giving USA Foundation, highlighted the significance of Americans’ commitment to the nonprofit sector despite the uncertain economic climate. He emphasized how their continued dedication demonstrates the vital role they believe nonprofits play in addressing societal challenges.
One example of a U.S.-based nonprofit actively engaging in philanthropic work abroad is Mercy Corps, headquartered in Oregon. This organization is known for its efforts in assisting people affected by various crises, such as those displaced by the earthquakes that struck Syria in February.
In light of the report’s findings, it is noteworthy that Americans’ philanthropic spirit has remained strong, even in the face of adversity. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic’s lasting impact on the global economy, Americans have consistently demonstrated their compassion and willingness to support causes they believe in.
Moreover, the report underscores the importance of recognizing the diverse areas in which charitable donations are utilized. From local communities to international disaster relief efforts, American donors contribute to a variety of causes, making an impact on a global scale.

وفي مؤتمر صحفي أعلن فيه نشر التقرير السنوي للمنح الخيرية الأميركية الذي يعتمد على بيانات مدرسة إنديانا ليلي العائلية للفيلانتروبيا في جامعة إنديانا، صرح جوش بيركهولز، رئيس مؤسسة Giving USA، في 20 يونيو أنه “على الرغم من الأوقات الاقتصادية المتردية، أظهر الأميركيون مدى أهمية القطاع غير الربحي وقدرته على حل المشاكل الكبيرة”.
